Description:
The Mercedes-Benz 280 SE Coupe was a style statement totally in tune with the sense of extravagance in Central Europe at the end of the sixties. Although quite a large car, with all the windows down it had all the chic of the French pillar-less coupes of the late 50s, but with acres of expensive leather and Burr Maple it oozed Germanic luxury. This is the desirable 3.5 litre, V8 model made for just two years from 1968 and is equipped with the automatic gearbox. The car has lived in the dry Australian interior for the last couple of decades which probably accounts for its rust free condition today. The odometer indicates 11,719 miles and, we understand, has been round the clock once. The Paintwork is finished in deep Fern Green Metallic; a colour that really suits the car. The interior is in original Tan leather and is in very good order throughout as are the Maple wood cappings and dashboard and the white steering wheel. The word "Patina" is often incorrectly used but the interior of this lovely green Mercedes has that wonderful "lived-in feel" of a London Gentlemans Club. These large Mercedes Benz cars have superb reliability and bullet proof mechanics. The engine starts readily & pulls well through the smooth auto box. Braking is likewise reassuringly powerful. The car is in fine order with a very original unmolested feel to it.We think you will approve....
