You probably don't run into an AMC Rambler too often, but take a good look at this unusually cool 1965 AMC Rambler Classic 770 convertible. If you squint a little bit, maybe it looks a bit like a Chevelle, and with a strong-running 327 cubic inch V8, it runs like one too. Oh, and then check out the price and decide again if perhaps this isn't just about the coolest ragtop for the money anywhere.
Black-on-red is a fantastic combination and it sure looks like that's this Rambler's original combination. The black paint is probably factory-applied, so it's showing some patina, but it's dignified, not beat-up, and someone has obviously taken great care of this car over the past 50 years. The great thing about original paint is that you know there aren't any nasty surprises waiting underneath and with black, you can see that it's in great shape, with straight quarters and very good panel alignment, all belying the car's very affordable price tag. Of course it's got a few signs of age, with scratches and nicks here and there, but it seems to simply invite you to get in and have fun rather than worrying about perfection.
